The Model SR-500 is a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) which works by monitoring the vacuum on the suction side of the pool or spa pump. When a blockage occurs in the main drain or skimmer a sudden rise in vacuum will cause the SR-500 to shut down pump operate and activate an audible alarm. The pump will remain off with the alarm sounding until manually reset. |
The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Act
Safety is an issue that concerns everybody. That's why this new legislation states that every public or commercial pool or spa with a single main drain per pump must have a device such as a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS). This law is intended to keep swimmers safe and help avoid possible entrapment and accidental drowning. Compliant with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act and is the only SVRS engineered to do all of the following:
1. Vent the pump suction line to the atmosphere
2. Shut off power to the pump motor
3. Automatically restart the system in protection mode to eliminate nuisance tripping
